This informative and interactive training will aim to improve the confidence of general practitioners to effectively identify populations suitable for the use of PrEP and to confidently prescribe as a strategy for the prevention of HIV transmission.
The session will include both didactic and case discussion formats presented by the following local specialists and GPs:
Dr Kym Collins – Sexual Health Physician, Clinic 72 - Sexual Health Service, Albury Community Health
STI case discussions and didactic presentation, including local STI Epi, at risk populations and appropriate testing according to risk group.
Dr Natasha McLellan – GP and HIV s100 Prescriber, Gardens Medical Group
PrEP case discussions and didactic presentation of HIV prevention strategies (TaSP, PrEP and PEP) with a focus on prescribing PrEP in the GP clinic.
Dr Catherine Orr – Medical Director, Gateway Health Wodonga
HIV case discussions and didactic presentation including HIV testing and symptoms, assessment, new diagnosis, public health aspects and local services involved in HIV care.
This event is targeting GPs however we encourage nurses, practice managers, pharmacists and other primary care practitioners to also attend.

• Identify appropriate patients to routinely test for HIV & perform HIV diagnostic testing
