Health priorities

In 2015, the Australian Government outlined national priorities for Primary Health Networks: mental health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, population health, health workforce, digital health and aged care.

North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network continues to respond to these priorities in the context of our region’s particular health needs.

By working with our communities, health professionals and others, and analysing a wide range of information and data, we look for inefficiencies, duplication, gaps and areas for improvement.

Our Annual Health Needs Assessment is the culmination of research, interrogation and analysis of health data relevant to the North Western Melbourne region. It identifies trends and focuses on our region’s key health priority areas. Each area has its own unique activities that specifically address the needs of our community.

Understanding and identifying health needs, establishing priorities, and planning, advocating and collaborating is a key part of our role.
