Short webinars with an underlining focus on dignity of rights for patients with disability

The Office of the Public Advocate’s Healthy Discussions Project team will be hosting four fifteen-minute webinars throughout October 2021 on topics with an underlying focus on dignity of rights for people with disability.

Each webinar will cover a specific topic on the following dates:

  • Thursday, 7 October 2021 – Effective Communication with Health Professionals – role plays
  • Thursday, 14 October 2021 – Dignity and decision making (including choice and control)
  • Thursday, 21 October 2021 – Dignity in relation to care needs
  • Thursday, 28 October 2021 – Skills, knowledge and attitudes required to communicate and support patients with visible and invisible disability to make decisions about their own health.

All webinars will be held at 11am.

These sessions are an opportunity for health professionals to bring along their morning tea and gain knowledge into recognising and understanding the rights of effectively communicating with people with disability.
