The Victorian Department of Health is seeking additional deputy chief health officers to support the COVID-19 response in Victoria.

These challenging public health leadership roles would ideally suit senior GPs with qualifications in (such as a Master of Public Health) and interest in public health, policy development, outbreak management and leadership of multidisciplinary teams. Shorter term appointments (for example: 6 months) would be welcomed. Part time and flexible appointments may also be available.

In addition, a range of senior medical advisor positions are also available to provide medical leadership for contact tracing teams. Again, an interest in public health and supporting the work of diverse teams in a challenging environment would be desirable. These positions report to the deputy chief health officer within the Intelligence, Case, Contact and Outbreak Management (I-CCOM) branch of the COVID-19 response.

Please feel free to share this information with GPs you think may be willing to join us in the Victorian Department of Health COVID-19 Response and provide their medical expertise, capacity for critical thinking, decisiveness and team leadership capacity.
