Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia (A&AA) is excited to announce new patient resources to help support those living with allergic rhinitis.
Patients tell us that accurate, easy-to-understand information received directly to their inbox is what would be helpful for them.
Patients who join the allergic rhinitis email education series receive six emails over two weeks. The first email includes the allergic rhinitis starter kit – a step-by-step information guide on everyday allergic rhinitis management, including allergic conjunctivitis (eye allergy). The following emails include information on different areas of management such as avoiding triggers, allergy testing, how to use a nasal spray correctly, immunotherapy and avoiding thunderstorm asthma. The information is evidenced based and provides practical advice.
Patients can also access allergy educators (trained health professionals) on the free National Allergy Helpline to answer any questions, and are encouraged to keep in touch with their GP, nurse practitioner and pharmacist as needed.
Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia is encouraging health professionals who work in primary care to learn more about the campaign at this page.
Quick and easy ways to share the campaign include:
- provide patients with this link to join the email education series
- print a poster to display in your waiting area, or use as a flyer to hand out (patients can join via the QR code on the poster)
- share a social media post
- use our pre-written copy and image in your next patient newsletter.
All resources for the campaign can be found on this page, including the Allergic Rhinitis Starter Kit and emails in the email education series (so that you know exactly what patients receive).
