Monash University is hosting an upcoming course titled ‘Working with complex presentations with people impacted by Alcohol and Other Drugs’.
Commencing 7 October 2024, you can develop the skills required to work across sectors, including Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), child protection, mental health, family violence and criminal/youth justice.
What you’ll learn
Working with people presenting with complex AOD concerns requires collaboration across health and welfare systems. In this course, you will learn about working collaboratively to manage complexity. You will develop skills in assessing the range of risk and protective factors with people impacted by AOD use, including trauma, poor mental health, family violence, child protection and children in out of home care and engagement with the justice system.
The course provides ethical decision-making tools for professionals to assess complex situations and work effectively with professionals across the health and welfare sector. The course is grounded in case management principles as the core way to work collaboratively across the service system to improve health and social outcomes for those impacted by AOD use.
Accelerate your qualification
Upon completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Monash University. Eligible participants who complete the assessed version of this short course will receive 6 credit points towards approved Monash awards courses.
