Merri Health is running the Healthy Eating, Activity and Lifestyle (HEAL) program, an eight-week lifestyle modification program, to begin soon in Coburg.

The program assists people who are overweight, or obese, with existing chronic disease or at risk of developing chronic disease to improve their health and wellbeing by providing lifestyle education with a focus on improving nutrition and physical activity and promoting self-management. Persons at risk of developing, or with existing diabetes, heart diseases or other conditions are examples of some of the participants that can attend HEAL.

HEAL is delivered by allied health professionals, and the weekly program includes a one-hour session on a nutrition topic delivered by a dietitian, plus a one-hour exercise session led by a physiotherapist.

When: Wednesdays 10:00am – 12:00pm
Where: 93 Bell Street, Coburg
Next group start date: Wednesday 1 May (until 19 June)
Cost: usual group fee ($5 or free for concession)

We run one group each school term.

Eligible participants need to complete a pre-assessment before commencing the group.
