Engaging consumers in their wound care is a powerful way to improve healing outcomes. In this exciting session, we'll hear from experts working in practice and research about how to empower patients and their carers, the smart technology and remote monitoring capabilities that support self-care, potential limits to self-treatment, and research into the self-care experience in Australia.

Our speakers are:

Julie Miller, Podiatrist and Credentialed Advanced Wound Practitioner, who will focus on self-care of diabetes-related foot issues.

Dr Suzanne Kapp, Clinical Researcher and Lecturer with University of Melbourne, with an overview of the research on patient self-care and tools and resources to assist.

A panel of wound care experts on self-care in the community, governance, disability support and more.
