Guest speaker, Christine Scott is a Family and Events Coordinator at VALID (The Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability). She has extensive experience in the disability sector, including her own personal experience. As a parent of a young adult with a disability, Christine has been participating in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) since 2013.
Christine has supported many individuals and their families in resolving NDIS issues and maximising participant experience in the four Victorian rollout sites.
This session will focus on preparing practice managers for the transition to the NDIS by:
- Providing an overview on the NDIS in a user-friendly format ie. what it is, who for, what it funds and how the scheme works
- Describing practical ways to prepare for and manage the transition to the NDIS
- Discussing the latest updates on the scheme
