About the Inner Melbourne PPCC

A PPCC will be established in Inner Melbourne.

The PPCC will:

  • operate up to 14 hours per day
  • operate from one of the following postcodes: 3000, 3003, 3051, 3052, 3053, 3054
  • be a GP-led service supported by nursing and administration staff
  • provide care for people of all ages
  • provide a viable alternative for people with conditions that require urgent attention but not an emergency response
  • see patients referred, or self-referred, or who present as a ‘walk in’. Patients may be referred to a PPCC from many sources, with pathways and protocols to be established with hospital emergency departments, Ambulance Victoria, NURSE-ON-CALL, the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department and the Maternal and Child Health Line.

Funding model

An initial establishment grant of up to $150,000.00 will be available to the PPCC service provider. Additionally, a monthly operating grant of $157,584.88 is available, in line with the PPCC service model. This cannot be used to support existing services or operating hours.
