Changes to the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program mean that health care providers can hand out bowel screening kits to patients directly. The session will discuss the implications of this. This event is in collaboration with Western Victoria Primary Health Network.
Many patients are more likely to complete a bowel cancer screening test after discussing the matter with a health care provider.
This session will cover:
- The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program and the Early Detection Saves Lives campaign.
- Impacts of COVID-19 new cancer diagnoses
- An introduction to the alternative access to bowel screening kits model, including how health care providers can order kits, issue them to patients and record this in the National Cancer Screening Register
- Resources and further education
- Questions and answers.
