Webinar

Palliative care

Join this webinar to find out more about voluntary assisted dying (VAD) in the aged care setting and things to consider in your own practice.

Being a person's home and with potentially longer term relationships with staff, other families and other residents, there are unique considerations for VAD in the aged care setting. Find out more about how you can support a resident who asks you about VAD, as well as considerations such as confidentiality, communication, supporting colleagues and other residents. Panelists will share some case studies from their own experience.

This webinar is part of the Winter series - the VAD navigator service is re-running recent popular webinars. Each webinar includes a recorded panel discussion and will be facilitated by one of our navigator service team with live online chat and Q&A throughout.

After registering, you'll receive a Zoom link 2 days before, then again 2 hours before the webinar starts.

Panel:

  • Bronwyn Wilson, social worker, Melbourne City Mission Palliative Care
  • Dr Andrew Broad, GP and voluntary assisted dying doctor
  • Kristen Kappel, clinical psychologist, VAD navigator service

This webinar was run in partnership with the North and West Metropolitan Region Palliative Care Consortium.
