Summary
North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) is conducting an Expression of Interest (EOI) exercise to source allied health providers to deliver a 26-week program of physical therapy for residents of residential aged care facilities (RACFs) that experienced COVID-19 outbreaks in 2020.
About the EOI
Opportunities are available for allied health providers (including physiotherapists, occupational therapists and/or exercise physiologists) to deliver a 26-week program of physical therapy for residents of RACFs.
The program aims to combat the deconditioning of residents of RACFs that experienced COVID-19 outbreaks in 2020. The program must begin delivery by June 2021.
Contracted allied health providers will be required to:
- Meet with their assigned RACFs to discuss logistics of the program with RACF management and conduct initial one-on-one consultation with each potential participant to determine baseline activities and suitability for the program.
- Provide group therapy that must include a prescribed program of resistance training and balance work on a twice weekly basis.
- Complete and report on ongoing measurements of participants throughout the program as defined by the contract.
- Ensure continuity of care and information sharing with existing provider and wider health care teams including general practice.
- Complete an evaluation template at the end of the program period including feedback, evaluation and final measurements.
More information on the program and the eligibility requirements is available in the EOI documentation available on Tenderlink.
