Seeking local general practices interested in establishing an Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic
North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) is requesting information from local general practices interested in establishing an Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic (EPPC) on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DHDA).
NWMPHN can nominate up to two general practices through this process, and the Department will then decide which clinic is successful.
Background information
There are currently no EPPCs in the NWMPHN region. On 9 February 2025, the Australian Government announced an expansion of the EPPC program over three years (2025-26 to 2027-28). The expansion will include funding for 11 new clinics, including one in the NWMPHN region, bringing the total number of clinics nationally to 33.
EPPCs work to improve the provision of diagnosis, treatment and management of endometriosis and pelvic pain, and the treatment and management of perimenopause and menopause symptoms.
Eligibility
This funding targets accredited general practices in the NWMPHN region that deliver services with a focus on women’s health, including endometriosis, pelvic pain management, perimenopause and menopause.
Following the request for information process, NWMPHN will nominate up to two general practices. The Department will make the final decision on which one practice will deliver the EPPC.
Funding
Funding of up to $265,667 (ex. GST) per annum over three years will be available for the successful provider following the Department’s assessment process. NWMPHN will then contract the provider, coordinate reporting, and manage other requirements associated with the funding.
