This session is an opportunity for general practices in Clifton Hill and Coburg or surrounding suburbs to learn more about the site requirements and the commissioning and contracting process for the new Medicare Urgent Care Clinics.

Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (MUCCs) reduce demand on hospital emergency departments and increase access to care for primary care presentations. They provide GP-led care for urgent but non-life threatening conditions such as mild infections, fractures and burns. They also offer pathology and imaging services.

The MUCC will:

  • Be a GP-led service supported by nursing and administration staff
  • Operate either from Clifton Hill and Coburg and surrounding suburbs
  • 14 hours per day, seven days a week
  • Provide services free for people of all ages (with or without a Medicare card)
  • Accept patients who are walk-in, online bookings or referrals.

NWMPHN will use Tenderlink as its portal for this RFT opportunity. To apply, interested providers must be registered for Tenderlink.

Interested providers will be able to ask questions in writing via Tenderlink once the RFTs open.
