World Cancer Day – 4 February 2018

Every year 8.8 million people die from cancer worldwide. Close to half of all people diagnosed die prematurely, aged between 30 to 69 years. World Cancer Day aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and improving education about the disease.

Upcoming cancer training and education

North West Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) will be holding a prostate cancer education session to provide general practitioners and practice nurses with the latest in evidence based prostate cancer care.

The session will identify tools and resources available to help primary health professionals provide consistent and supportive care at each stage of the patient’s cancer journey, including Optimal Care Pathways for cancer and HealthPathways.

This session is delivered in partnership with the Australian Prostate Cancer Centre.
