The WorkSafe Victoria Clinical Hotline launched in May 2021, with the purpose of providing timely clinical support to GPs, psychologists, physiotherapists and case managers who are supporting our injured workers.

Providers who have used this service have been able to speak with a WorkSafe Victoria clinician to discuss topics such as:

  • certifying a patient’s functional capacity
  • secondary injury and/or pre-existing injury- mental health and physical
  • provisional payments and facilitating psychology services
  • network pain management programs
  • Treatment options available (including new services and pilots).

From February 2022, and whilst we are evaluating the pilot, the Clinical Hotline will undergo some operational changes, however will remain available to GPs, psychologists and physiotherapists.

Healthcare providers will be able to call through and speak directly to a clinical panel expert during the operation hours as outline in the table below.

Tuesday 1:00pm – 4:00pm 10:00am – 1:00pm
Wednesday 1:00pm – 5:00pm 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Thursday 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Outside of these hours, callers will have the option of leaving a detailed voicemail or sending an email through to provider@worksafe.vic.gov.au with the subject line “Clinical Hotline” to request a call back within one business day.
