NWMPHN seeks new members for its advisory councils

  6 August 2024  NWMPHN

Could you help guide NWMPHN’s mission to transform primary health care across its 3,200 square kilometre catchment?

Our organisation uses advice and feedback from health care providers and community members to guide its work in creating effective and equitable physical and mental health supports for the 1.9 million people it serves.

Two important bodies through which this happens are our Clinical Council and Community Council.

The Clinical Council comprises representatives from across primary and acute health services. The Community Council includes a range of members working in health and community service organisations as well as independent consumers, who provide insight and direction on the unique needs of the region.

Both councils meet four times a year. Members are appointed for an initial two-year term, with the option of extension. They are remunerated for their time.

To learn more about the two councils and how they operate, please see this NWMPHN webpage.

We currently have a vacancy on both councils and are keen to hear from people who might like to join them. We are seeking expressions of interest from residents with a keen interest in health care to complete the Community Council. The Clinical Council vacancy is for a child and maternal health nurse.

Applicants for both can live or work in any of the 13 local government areas within the NWMPHN catchment.

For more details and to apply for the Community Council position, please go to this NWMPHN webpage.
