In early June 2017 the Federal Government announced a new headspace service for Melton, to be commissioned by North Western Melbourne PHN.
headspace offers early intervention services for 12 to 25 year olds across the key areas of mental health; related physical health; social and vocational support; and alcohol and other drug use.
The new service will provide a real boost for youth mental and related physical health in the region and is great reward for effort for all who have been advocating for increased youth health services in Melbourne’s west.
We are currently planning the new service and will soon move into the procurement phase, with a Request for Tender to establish and operate headspace Melton expected to be published in September.
To ensure fairness and transparency, the Tender will be published via our e-tendering portal Tenderlink – www.tenderlink.com/mpcn
About the Commissioner: NWMPHN covers 13 local government areas in Melbourne’s inner, northern and western suburbs. We are working to improve the health of everyone in our region through supporting health providers, identifying community health needs, and commissioning services to meet those needs.
