The Australian Contraception and Abortion Primary Care Practitioner Support (AusCAPPS) Network has two new toolkits for GPs, practice nurses, nurse practitioners, midwives, pharmacists, and practice and pharmacy support staff to use when discussing early medical abortion (EMA) care with patients.
AusCAPPS is a national online community of practice designed to help GPs, practice nurses and community pharmacists to provide EMA and long-acting reversible contraception services.
The first toolkit – ‘Communicating with patients about medical abortion in primary care’ – includes tips on language to use, content to discuss and resources to recommend to patients for additional information or support.
The second toolkit – ‘MS-2 Step: Frequently Asked Questions’ – supports clinicians when answering patients’ questions about EMA.
Join the AusCAPPS Network to get free access to their resource library, and discover more resources and clinical guidance focused on improving women’s access to sexual and reproductive healthcare.
