New data sharing agreements for general practices using Pen CAT

  20 June 2021  NWMPHN

North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) is in the process of moving all practices across to a new data sharing agreement.

This new agreement will better suit the data governance requirements of the Practice Incentives Program Quality Improvement (PIP QI) that the Australian Department of Health has established. A copy of this governance (.pdf) is available on the Department’s website. The agreement will also provide practices with more information on data security and privacy.

This agreement is a requirement for practices to continue accessing Pen CS and to allow de-identified data to be shared with NWMPHN. A new contract is not required for practices that submit their data using a JSON file or have signed a new agreement in the last six months.

A copy of your new agreement will be sent to the practice’s primary contact in the coming days.

If you have any questions about our data sharing requirements please talk to your practice’s NWMPHN quality improvement program officer, or contact us by email to primarycare@nwmphn.org.au or call (03) 9347 1188.

More information on data sharing and governance is available on our website.
