The recruitment and retention of general practice staff in our region is becoming increasingly challenging. We are holding three forums, for the central, northern and western regions, to hear from local practices about the challenges you are facing in recruiting and retaining GPs, nurses and administration staff.
We have heard from practices that workforce issues are contributing to staff burnout and fatigue, practices closing and can affect patient care. Join us at these sessions to better understand the issues and discuss potential solutions.
Following these sessions, we will develop an issues paper to be used to advocate to state and federal policy makers and others in the sector for an increased focus on this issue.
