VHHITAL and Gippsland PHN invite GPs, Nurse Practitioners and other primary healthcare professionals within Gippsland PHN region to attend the training event. This informative and interactive session will provide you with the information and tools required to improve common STIs screening and care for the local community and key priority populations.

Please note: This webinar will contain localised data and information for the primary health care workforce in the Gippsland PHN region. However, much of the content is relevant to the entire Victorian workforce and registrations are open to all primary health care workers in Victoria.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  1. Improve understanding of sexual health care for young people;
  2. Identify at-risk clients to screen, take a sexual history and correctly perform testing for the most common sexually transmissible infections (STIs) - chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis;
  3. Describe the clinical presentation of chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis;
  4. Manage treatment, contact tracing and referrals for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis.
