The updated 'Australian recommendations for the management of hepatitis C virus infection: A consensus statement (2022)' were published at the end of November 2022. These guidelines have further streamlined and simplified the management of hepatitis C in primary care. Experienced practitioners also need to be made aware of and upskilled in these new recommendations regarding reflex testing, assessment, treatment, dose interruption management, and early confirmation of hepatitis C cure so they can provide their patients with best-practice care.
