Do you treat women who experience heavy menstrual bleeding? Are you across the latest treatments available, and what is now considered good practice?

The first Australian Atlas of Healthcare Variation identified significant variation in the rate of hysterectomies and endometrial ablations, surgical procedures to treat heavy menstrual bleeding. This prompted the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care to develop the Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Clinical Care Standard. This event will take you through the new standard, and help you better understand how you can treat and engage with women who have this common condition.

Why should you attend?

  • Understand the detail of the standard, including the range of evidence-based pharmaceutical treatments and ‘minimally invasive’ gynaecological procedures that are available.
  • Hear from a consumer who experiences heavy menstrual bleeding, and learn how to engage women in shared decision-making.
  • Listen to case studies, and directly from practitioners who are delivering high-quality care.
  • Identify areas for improvement in your own practice, and how to implement the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care Case for Improvement.
