1.5 RACGP CPD hours - educational activity
Join NWMPHN in a practical education session led by experienced Western Health endocrinologists, designed to support GPs in making confident, evidence-based decisions in diabetes care.
Gain clarity on identifying atypical forms of diabetes, interpreting continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data, and tailoring treatment plans using newer pharmacological options.
The session will cover essential aspects of patient management across diverse clinical scenarios. Participants will explore the safety and use of oral diabetes agents in women of childbearing age, gain guidance on insulin management in the peri-pregnancy period, and develop skills to recognise less common types of diabetes and their clinical implications.
The session will also provide practical strategies for integrating continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) into routine care, empowering GPs to use this technology effectively to optimise patient outcomes.
By the end, GPs will be equipped with up-to-date knowledge and practical tools to enhance safety, improve management decisions, and provide personalised care for people living with diabetes.
Speakers:
• Dr. Debra Gordon, Endocrinologist
