North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) seeks interest from organisations keen to improve access to primary care for residents born overseas.
The focus is on the local government areas of Brimbank, Wyndham and Maribyrnong. Instead of establishing new programs, this initiative enhances the capacity and reach of existing navigation services, enabling organisations to deliver more culturally responsive and accessible support.
This time-limited project funds providers to:
- deliver health care service navigation support
- build support and navigation capabilities
- enhance cultural competence
- implement assertive outreach strategies
- increase awareness among overseas-born residents of existing health services.
Two successful applicants will each be awarded $130,000 (ex. GST) to instigate the work.
The initiative is expected to begin at the start of 2026 and conclude by mid-year.
