Overview

Macedon Ranges data identified bereavement as a key risk factor for suicide in the Macedon Ranges.

To help ensure families receive adequate support and care during a high-risk time, NWMPHN commissioned Jesuit Social Services to develop a guide to aid funeral directors who are supporting families bereaved by suicide.

This activity was part of the Macedon Ranges Place-Based Suicide Prevention Trials.

Outcomes

We acknowledge the people of the Kulin nations as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our work in the community takes place. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

We also recognise, respect and affirm the central role played in our work by people with lived experience, their families and/or carers.
