Increase the number of children with asthma who have a complete Asthma Action Plan
About this activity
Use the QI template below to increase the number of children with asthma who have a complete Asthma Action Plan (AAP).
This quality improvement activity guide was developed using findings from the Improving Childhood Asthma Management (ICAM) pilot program in Melbourne’s inner west.
This activity has been developed in partnership with SaferCare Victoria, Asthma Australia, Royal Children’s Hospital, National Asthma Council Australia (NAC) and Cohealth.
- Develop a consistent approach to conducting children’s AAP.
- Invite your patients for a review or update before the back-to-school rush in any new year.
- Consider using the MBS item billing criteria for a General Practitioner Management Plan (GPMP) and subsequent reviews for developing AAPs.
