Whether you are in general practice, allied health or aged care, primary health care is busier than ever. Setting aside time to connect with peers to share what’s working and pick up practical ideas can make a real difference.
North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network runs two series of professional catch-ups: Practice Manager Peer Connect and Practice Nurse Skill Share.
These networking and learning sessions bring practice teams together from across the catchment to strengthen relationships, support workforce wellbeing and build capability. They yield practical outcomes you can take straight back to your workplace.
Session highlights
PM Peer Connect
A recent session held in Tarneit focused on culture and retention in primary care. It shared practical approaches to nurturing engagement and supportive workplaces, plus a real-world example of strengthening teamwork, communication and wellbeing in a busy practice.
Practice Nurse Skill Share
Recent sessions have supported shared learning and collaboration, covering immunisation decision-making and catch-up planning. Topics included the Health Application Lightweight Protocol (HALO) framework, updates across COVID-19, RSV, pneumococcal and measles, and an adult MMR campaign update delivered by public health representatives.
In all our networking sessions, participants consistently highlight opportunities to meet others in similar roles, exchange ideas, and leave with actionable takeaways.

- Practice managers and practice staff looking for strategies to strengthen team culture and retention.
