3-hour evening workshop for GPs This 3-hour evening workshop is aimed at up-skilling GPs in the detection of BPD, as well as managing crises with patients, drafting an initial treatment plan and organising inpatient referral. The workshop will provide GPs with the opportunity to discuss the challenges they encounter in organising appropriate care for their patients.

Presenters
Associate Professor Sathya Rao is the Director of Spectrum and a consultant psychiatrist. He is a DBT therapist and has a keen interest in teaching and training. He held the position of chair of the Victorian Psychiatry Training Committee for over six years. Sathya is an adjunct clinical associate professor at Monash University.

Associate Professor Josephine Beatson is a senior clinical advisor to Spectrum, a consultant psychiatrist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over 30 years’ experience in public and private settings. She is a senior fellow in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne, and has a particular interest in the understanding and treatment of severe personality disorders.

Who should register? General practitioners.

Cost: $110 (Payable by credit card only).

Catering: Light refreshments will be provided.

Parking: Parking is available close by at the Melbourne Museum car park on Nicholson Street.

Cancellation policy: If your circumstances change and you no longer can attend this event after you have registered please email spectrumtraining@easternhealth.org.au no later than one (1) week prior to the event to cancel and/or be issued with a full refund. A refund will not be issued if notification has not been received within this time frame and you will be required to pay for the event.
