Dr Catherine Hutton – former Board Director of North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) – was this week made a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2025 King’s Birthday celebrations.

The award was given for significant service to general practice in medicine, and to health care system improvement.

Dr Hutton worked at the Eastbrooke Family Clinic in Essendon. As well as her contribution to NWMPHN, she has been a board member of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and past chair of the Australian Medical Association Victoria.

In 2024 she was inducted into the AMA Roll of Fellows at the AMA National Conference in Melbourne.

“Dr Hutton’s award is extremely well deserved,” said NWMPHN Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Carter.

“As well as providing expert guidance and considered insight into our organisation and others, she has also spent many years working as a caring and supportive GP. Her contribution at the immediate and macro levels of Victorian health care cannot be underestimated.”
