Western Health will change pathology services to a new provider from February 2026.
The new public pathology service provider, Alfred/Monash Shared Pathology Service, will have collection centres at seven Western Health locations and a home visits service (see below).
Please note our current pathology service will continue until the specified date of transfer to the new service at each location.
Any pathology results from these collection sites will be sent directly to the consumer’s electronic medical record (EMR) at Western Health.
Results will be available via My Health Record and GP Practice Management Software via Healthlink.
Pathology service information will be available via the Western Health Pathology page once the new service has commenced.
While consumers may choose to continue to use private pathology laboratories such as Dorevitch Pathology or Melbourne Pathology, their test results may take longer to come through and/or may not be sent directly to their EMR at Western Health.
