Following the recent amalgamation of Djerriwarrah Health Services and Western Health, we are pleased to announce that from Monday, 19 January 2026, Western Health’s Paediatric Specialist Clinics referral management service is fully aligning across multiple campuses.

Going forward, we are introducing a centralised referral system.

This means all referrals received for Paediatric Medical and Behaviour and Development can be sent to one direct referral line centrally located at Joan Kirner Women’s & Children’s Hospital, with Paediatric appointments being allocated to:

  • Bacchus Marsh
  • Melton
  • Joan Kirner

A centralised system helps ensure that children receive access to care in the most appropriate timeframe.

For all Paediatric Medical and Behaviour and Developmental Referrals please fax to 9055 2125.

Please do not email referrals to individual clinicians or Head of Unit.

*Please note: The above applies to all Paediatric Behaviour and Development, and Paediatric Medical referrals for appointments with a Paediatrician. If you are requesting allied health developmental assessments, then a separate referral will be required for each service requested.

For more information please see Western Health’s children’s referrals webpage.
