This webinar for general practitioners will provide an understanding that Cardio- Oncology is a growing field that takes a team based approach and is aimed at minimising the cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in cancer survivors.

Heart disease and cancer are leading causes of death in Australia, and remain the top 2 causes of morbidity. As many effective cancer treatments leave survivors at a heightened risk of cardiovascular disease.

The presentation will provide an overview of updates in oncology for general practitioners, clinical requirements when monitoring for a variety of cardiovascular complications including heart failure, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, thromboembolism, pericardial disease and valvular heart disease during and after cancer treatment.

Highlighting the importance of cardiac care in optimising cancer treatment as well as improving morbidity for cancer survivors.
