Cancer Education Programs - Facilitator Training

A one-day online workshop on Tuesday 21 April 2026 for Health Professionals interested in becoming a CEP facilitator.

The Cancer Education Programs (CEP) are group based supportive care and education programs developed for those affected by cancer, their carers, families and friends. The programs provide information, education, practical strategies and the opportunity for participants to connect with others affected by cancer.

This one-day course trains facilitators to deliver both the Managing Cancer and Cancer Wellness programs to small groups of patients, carers and families affected by cancer

Our one-day online training session is interactive and covers:

• Key concepts and benefits of the programs.
• Overview of adult learning principles and facilitation techniques
• Program planning, promotion and recruitment strategies
• A facilitator manual and program resources.
• Networking, professional development and regional/yearly planning opportunities.

At the completion of training, facilitators are provided access to Cancer Council resources and ongoing support to ensure the delivery of successful programs in their health service.
