Clear communication is essential in aged care, particularly when supporting older people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. This free interactive webinar will equip you with practical tools to confidently engage with language services.

Learn about the free interpreting and translation services, when and how to use them, and why they matter. You’ll also build skills to work effectively with interpreters in your aged care practice, including asking clear and purposeful questions, managing interpreted conversations, and synthesising information gathered through interpretation.

Using best practice examples and interactive discussions, this session will support aged care providers to deliver more inclusive, responsive, and culturally safe care.

Meet our speakers:

  • Cecilia Chiolero – Practical tips for translating and interpreting services in aged care
  • Despina Amanatidou – Making Communication Work: Simple, Practical Tools for Multilingual Aged Care
  • Claudia Madali – Best Practice Case Studies

This online session is organised by COTA NT, Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania and ECCQ, members of the Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) Alliance.

If you have any enquiries, please reach out to mp@eccq.com.au
