Western Health is seeking expressions of interest from general practitioners to join the Western Health Primary Care and Population Health Advisory Committee (PCPHAC).
Help shape the future of primary care and population health in the West.
The Western Health PCPHAC provides advice to the Western Health Board on primary care and population health strategies, planning, and integration across the western suburbs of Melbourne.
The role of the PCPHAC is to:
- Advise on local and statewide population health issues and priorities.
- Enhance integration between community, primary care, and Western Health.
- Provide input into the development and review of the Western Health Strategic Plan.
- Share perspectives and support collaboration across member organisations.
With the recent establishment of Local Health Service Networks, the PCPHAC will also inform the development and implementation of system-wide plans and initiatives for the West Metro Local Health Service Network, comprising of Western Health and Werribee Mercy Hospital.
Who can join?
Western Health are seeking two general practitioners to join the committee who:
- Practice in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
- Are frequent referrers to Western Health and/or Werribee Mercy Hospital with a strong contextual knowledge of the region.
- Can provide insight into the needs of local populations, access to services and/or service integration.
Other members include representatives from North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN), Local Councils, community providers, Werribee Mercy Hospital and the Western Public Health Unit.
What is involved?
Attend four meetings per year (currently held on Wednesday but time can be flexible dependent on the successful appointment’s requirements). Face-to-face and hybrid options available. Each meeting will be approximately two hours in duration and there is no preparation required.
Members will be remunerated as per NWMPHN’s Stakeholder Reimbursement Policy.
