Overview

This funding is from the Youth Mental Health: headspace demand management and enhancement program and contributes to the Australian Government’s implementation of mental health reforms.

YSAS, as the lead agency for headspace Collingwood, has been awarded a grant under this funding arrangement to undertake a project that will reduce the wait times for young people accessing the service, and another project to build the cultural capability of staff and services.

Outcomes

Reduced the wait times for young people to access headspace Collingwood services through the implementation of a Single Session Thinking (SST) clinic.
Barriers reduced for LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse young people in accessing mental health services through improved capability and confidence of headspace Collingwood staff in dealing with this group of young people, and through targeted group and community engagement activities.
