The Victorian Department of Health advises that expressions of interest are now open for accredited rural Victorian primary care providers to participate in the Single Employer Model (SEM) 2027 and 2028 trial years.
The SEM Trial supports rural generalist trainees to remain employed by a Victorian public health service while undertaking primary care training placements in rural and regional Victoria.
The trial applies to approved primary care settings in Modified Monash Model (MMM) 2-7 locations. It is designed to strengthen Victoria’s rural generalist workforce by creating a more seamless training experience and supporting the attraction and retention of rural generalists.
Participation is voluntary. Submitting an expression of interest gives practices the option of participating in the future but does not commit them to taking a trainee or guarantee that they will receive one.
Expressions of interest close on Friday, 25 September 2026.
