The Distress Support Service program is a short-term, community-based program that offers a compassionate response to people 18 years and over, who are in distress but do not need emergency care.

It offers face-to-face, phone, and telehealth support for those with live, work, or are otherwise connected to the Darebin region.

The service can help a person identify the causes of their distress and provide tailored support to manage their distress.

It has a no-wrong-door approach and will ensure that individuals who would benefit from longer-term care are linked in with those services in a warm and timely manner.

Referrals can be made via dssreferrals@ermha.org

The short-term support team will make contact with the individual within 24 business hours to provide caring, practical help around their distress.

Support is available immediately with no wait list. No Medicare card is required, and support is free for all individuals.
