Did you know that HIV and hepatitis B can be safely treated and managed in general practice?
Many patients do not need a referral to a specialist and can be cared for by a local GP reducing possible long trips and/or waiting times at hospital clinics.
The Victorian HIV and Hepatitis Integrated Training and Learning (VHHITAL) program delivers comprehensive education and training for GPs on the diagnosis, treatment and management of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and sexually transmitted infections (STI).
To find out if there is a s100 accredited GP that you can refer a patient to, please see the full list Hepatitis B community prescribers or HIV community prescribers.
