Tweddle Child and Family Health Service are set to launch the second round of Working Out Dads, a ground-breaking parenting program for fathers of children aged 0-4. The six groups will commence in June starting with Wyndham and Brimbank, followed by groups in Melton, Maribyrnong, Hobsons Bay and Moreland. The free six week program runs weekly between 7:00pm and 8:30pm, and includes one hour of discussion and a 30 minute workout. Working Out Dads will be evaluated by the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute with dads being asked to complete surveys on three occasions; before they begin the program, after they complete the program and a final survey 3 months later. Participants will receive a $25 gift card at the completion of each of the three surveys.
Groups explore developing parenting skills and confidence, building positive relationships, juggling the needs of your family, work and your own needs, the changing dynamics of relationships, managing stress and pressure and the importance of looking after your health, fitness and well-being for you, your child and family.
