The Victorian and Tasmanian Primary Health Network Alliance (VTPHNA) is now the PHN Southern Alliance, following the welcome admission of Adelaide Primary Health Network.

The Alliance now comprises eight PHNs and operates across three states.

Member PHNs are:

  • Adelaide
  • Eastern Melbourne
  • Gippsland
  • Western Victoria
  • Murray
  • North Western Melbourne
  • South Eastern Melbourne
  • Primary Health Tasmania

The Alliance has operated since 2016. It provides a mechanism for PHNs to collaborate on operational opportunities, enabling shared approaches, peer learning and optimised capacity building.

This improves the effectiveness and consistency of PHN activities and contributes to better local primary care outcomes.

“We are excited to be bringing partners together across three states,” says Judy Perkins, PHN Southern Alliance’s new General Manager.

“Our new name reflects our evolving partnership and reinforces our collaboration approach to navigating this period of health reform. Together the Alliance members are committed to our collective goal – creating healthier communities.”

We also take this opportunity to formally welcome Judy, who brings 19 years’ experience driving operational performance, service improvement, and people‑focused outcomes across the Victorian Department of Health.

She is passionate about clear governance, effective communication, and creating environments where people and programs thrive.
