Residents in Melbourne’s west now have improved access to sexual health services, thanks to a new partnership between the Victorian Sexual Health Network (VSHN) and the Werribee Medical and Dental Centre.
The centre is at 1/5 Station Place, Werribee, and is open seven days a week.
The VSHN is led by the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre (MSHC). To meet increasing demand and support primary care providers in addressing rising rates of sexually transmitted infections (STI), it is establishing 10 general practice sexual health clinics.
From December 2, 2024, the Werribee clinic will provide services including:
- routine STI screening
- symptomatic STI management
- onsite treatment for gonorrhoea, syphilis, and genital warts
- pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis for HIV
- sex-worker-friendly check-ups
- transgender health care services.
