From March 2027, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Royal Women’s Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre will be accepting eReferrals for Specialist Clinic (Outpatient) and Sub-acute Services via HealthLink.
Benefits of eReferral via HealthLink:
- no more faxing or unsecured emails
- saves time – templates pre-populate patient details
- links to HealthPathways, statewide referral criteria and hospital websites
- simple to attach reports, images and results
- automated referral status notifications
- referrals automatically copied to your patient’s record
HealthLink is integrated with most general practice software, making the transition simple and free.
Practices without conformant software can register for a MyHealthLink portal account by completing the online registration form, noting in the comments field that you would like to use eReferral (SmartForms).
