The start of the new year has seen the arrival of a new chief executive officer at Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health.

David Wild, who moved from South Australia, has taken up the position from last week. With a clinical background in mental health, David has experience in the education, health and community sectors and has worked with young people, refugees, asylum seekers, indigenous communities and survivors of torture.

Peter Donlon, the Board Chair at Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health, expressed that three years post-merger, the staff are enthusiastic about embarking on this new phase.

“We look forward to this new era in the organisation’s proud 50-year history of supporting the people of Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges,” Mr Donlon said.

David will split his time between the health service’s two main sites at Sunbury and Kyneton.

“I am excited about getting to know the various communities across Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges,” said Mr Wild. “I am amazed at the breadth of services that the organisation provides to people across the lifespan and look forward to getting to know the dedicated and passionate staff delivering these programs.”

Mr Wild will also join 10 community health CEOs from across Victoria as a member of the Alliance of Rural and Regional Community Health (ARRCH) who work together sharing resources and ideas to advocate for the improvement of the health and wellbeing of local people.
