Banksia Palliative Care Service (BPCS) is pleased to invite you to participate in a series of webinars specifically designed to demonstrate the benefits of partnerships between GPs and Community Palliative Care Services in achieving best outcomes for patients, carers and the service providers.

The online sessions, written and presented by practising community Palliative Care Medical Specialists, Nurses and Social Workers, run over 4 consecutive weeks.

This session will provide GPs with information about opioids currently available in Australia, and will describe their use in patients with palliative care needs to manage distressing symptoms, such as pain and dyspnoea. The selection considerations of specific opioids for individual patients is also discussed, along with medico-legal aspects of opioid prescriptions. This session aims to attain best outcomes for palliative patients by supporting GPs to make informed decisions when asked to prescribe these medications.
