As part of the Prostate Optimal Care Pathway Project, North Eastern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (NEMICS) are delivering a workshop to broaden your knowledge, challenge your preconceptions and give you the confidence to initiate sexual health conversations with patients in a variety of settings. This is a FREE course normally worth $250 and is open to all medical, nursing and allied health professionals.

Topics include:
  • Why it’s important to talk about sex and why health professionals often don’t
  • Impact of illness and injury on sexual health and sexual function
  • Enhancing intimacy
  • Tips on how to initiate sexual health conversations
  • LGBTIQ inclusive practice
The Presenters
  • Anita Major-Brown is an occupational therapist who is passionate about working with individuals to address their sexual health needs. Anita has completed extensive research into the management of sexuality and disability and has worked both locally and internationally.
  • Simone Sheridan is a sexual health nurse consultant with considerable experience in both supporting patients with concerns related to sexual health and intimacy, and educating professionals to do the same.
