North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) invites healthcare providers to an interactive session focusing on the clinical usability and functionalities of the My Health Record system.
Experts presenting will elaborate on the medico-legal aspects of using the My Health Record system, including an opportunity to ask questions about using the system and implications for your practice.
This workshop will discuss the benefits, uses and functionalities of the My Health Record systems for health care providers. It includes a presentation on the medico-legal aspects of digital health and how this relates to clinical workflow. Questions from the audience are encouraged and can be submitted prior to the event at MyHR@nwmphn.org.au

- Understand the value of using the My Health Record system in routine practice
- Describe the medico-legal aspects relating to use of the My Health Record
- Describe the privacy and consent obligations of the My Health Record and its impact on workflow
- Utilise the My Health Record system in day-to-day practice to improve patient safety
Dr Rob Hosking
Dr Hosking is chair of the RACGP expert committee in Practice Technology and Management. He has a long standing involvement in digital health solutions, being an early adopter of systems at his general practice in Bacchus Marsh.
Sophie Pennington
Sophie has over 20 years experience as a litigation lawyer, specifically in the health sector. Sophie acts for hospitals, medical practitioners, pathology and radiology clinics in civil claims, disciplinary matters, coroner's investigations, privacy disputes, employment and criminal matters.
